Governor: "In the Year of Science and Technology, we will see worthy results of the intellectual work of our fellow countrymen"

The year 2021 has been declared the Year of Science and Technology by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The second meeting of the presidium of the organizing committee for the Year of Science and Technology was held in Moscow under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Assistant to the President of Russia Andrey Fursenko.

At the meeting, working groups were created for each area of the plan's implementation, including international cooperation, interaction with business, youth organizations, as well as on the promotion of thematic events in society.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, more than 8 thousand proposals were received from research institutes, universities, federal and regional authorities, and public organizations as part of the work on the formation of the plan. All initiatives are being worked out.

The main part of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia will include about 70 federal events. Of these, 60% will be held in the format of thematic forums, exhibitions, scientific and practical conferences at the international, all-Russian and regional levels. It is expected that at least 50 million people will be involved in the online and offline formats.

"We need the active participation of all the subjects of the Russian Federation, who will take up the federal formats at their own level and develop them on the ground. We have clear goals and objectives for which a plan is created. We are talking about attracting talented young people to the field of science and technology. And here we need to show what opportunities the guys have for self-realization. Further , the goal is to increase the involvement of the professional community in scientific and technological development, the task is to reflect the demand for the profession of a scientist and the prospects for a research career in the country. In addition, it is important to convey to the population the key achievements of domestic science, the results of research activities over the past two decades, to show what our scientists live today and what tasks they solve, " Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko set priorities.

The head of the Don region is confident that the coming year will allow even more to reveal the scientific and creative potential of the residents of the Rostov region.

"This will be another central theme of our work for the whole of 2021. The Rostov Region has a huge scientific potential. The main goals of the Year of Science and Technology are to promote, develop and support scientific activities on the Don. A large field for joint work – innovative projects and current research, including-within the framework of the Southern Scientific and Educational Center, created not so long ago. I am sure that soon we will see worthy results of the intellectual work of our fellow countrymen, " said Vasily Golubev.
